What makes a spindown different
On a regular D20, the numbers are arranged randomly, so that a roll is fair. On a spindown, they're arranged in order: 20, 19, 18 and so on, spiraling around the die. That way, you turn to the next number in a single motion — exactly what you want when you're counting down your life total. For random rolls, it's actually less suitable.
Rivals of Ixalan: the golden city found
Rivals of Ixalan, from 2018, is the second chapter of the Ixalan story: the four factions — pirates, dinosaurs, vampires, and merfolk — finally reach the golden city of Orazca, and that's when the real fighting begins. If you collect your spindowns per set, this one belongs with the one from Ixalan.
