What makes a spindown different
On a regular D20, the numbers are arranged randomly, so that a roll is fair. On a spindown, they're arranged in order: 20, 19, 18 and so on, spiraling around the die. That way, you turn to the next number in a single motion — exactly what you want when you're counting down your life total. For random rolls, it's actually less suitable.
Magic Origins was a turning point
Magic Origins, from 2015, was the last core set in the old lineup and told the origin story of five planeswalkers. For anyone who collects their spindowns per set, this one belongs to a release that won't come back.
