What Extra Battle Day is
Extra Battle Day is the Japanese tournament held every year on January 1 at participating card shops, in the Expanded format that also allows older cards. Everyone who takes part goes home with two things: a new promo card in an alternate illustration, and this sealed pack. So you couldn't buy them — you had to be there that day.
What was in it that year
Participants in the 2024 edition received an alternate illustration of Raihan, the dragon-type Gym Leader from Galar, alongside this pack. The pack itself contains one of twelve reprinted cards from the XY era. Those cards carry an SV-P number, even though they're from an era more than ten years ago — and they were only distributed that day.
There's also the 2025 pack. Other Japanese promo packs include the Pokémon Card Gym pack from Scarlet & Violet and the one from the MEGA series.
