What side-loading means
The pockets open at the side instead of the top. So if you turn the binder upside down, nothing falls out — the reason collectors pick this version for cards they don’t want to risk losing. Between the pockets on the front and back sits a black divider, so two cards don’t rub against each other and the back doesn’t show through.
Why acid-free and PVC-free
Over the years, soft PVC releases plasticizers that make cards dull and sticky, and acidic cardboard yellows at the edges. Everything Ultra Pro uses in this line is tested against that. For cards you want to keep for ten years, that’s the difference that counts.
About the Elite Series
The Elite Series is Ultra Pro’s most expensive line, with one Pokémon across the whole cover per version. This one features Eevee, the Pokémon with eight different evolutions — and so the only one whose collectors have, by default, eight times as much to keep.
