What "Off Shot" Means

In Japanese, an off shot is a candid snapshot of someone away from the job — not the posed photo, but the moment right beside it. That's why in this series the trainers from Galar aren't shown in battle stance but just going about their day, hanging out.

Why 64 and Not 65

Western sleeve packs contain 65, Japanese packs 64 — a difference that simply comes down to habit in the two markets. Either way, a deck holds 60 cards, so you're left with a few spares regardless. Keep in mind that Japanese sleeves are sized for Japanese cards, which are a fraction smaller than Western ones.

Who Bede, Victor and Hop Are

Victor is the male protagonist of Pokémon Sword and Shield, and Hop is his childhood friend and first rival — Champion Leon's little brother, who spends the whole game wrestling with that shadow. Bede is the third rival: arrogant, sponsored by Chairman Rose, and, after a serious fall from grace, ultimately Opal's student in Ballonlea.

What Sleeves Are For

Sleeves protect your cards from fingerprints, moisture and damaged edges, and they let a deck shuffle more smoothly. At tournaments they're effectively mandatory: every card back in your deck must look identical, so no one can tell which card you're holding from the back.
