What "Off Shot" Means

In Japanese, an off shot is a candid snapshot of someone away from the job — not the posed photo, but the moment right beside it. That's why in this series the trainers from Galar aren't shown in battle stance but just going about their day, hanging out. It's one of the most beloved design series the Pokémon Center has ever made, and that shows in what its merchandise goes for.

Why 64 and Not 65

Western sleeve packs contain 65, Japanese packs 64 — a difference that simply comes down to habit in the two markets. Either way, a deck holds 60 cards, so you're left with a few spares regardless. Keep in mind that Japanese sleeves are sized for Japanese cards, which are a fraction smaller than Western ones.

Who Gloria and Marnie Are

Gloria is the female protagonist of Pokémon Sword and Shield. Marnie is your rival from Spikemuth, with her own fan club that follows her everywhere and gets seriously in your way during the game. In the trading card game, the Marnie Supporter card was a reliable staple for years.

What Sleeves Are For

Sleeves protect your cards from fingerprints, moisture and damaged edges, and they let a deck shuffle more smoothly. At tournaments they're effectively mandatory: every card back in your deck must look identical, so no one can tell which card you're holding from the back.
