Why Japanese sleeves are different
A Japanese pack contains 64 sleeves, not 65. That's because a Japanese deck holds 60 cards, leaving exactly four spares for prize cards or replacements. Japanese sleeves are also cut a fraction tighter than Western ones, which makes them nice as an inner sleeve under a second layer — but if you want to use them as the outer sleeve at a tournament, pick one brand for your whole deck so the backs can't be told apart.
About Latias and Latios
Latias and Latios are brother and sister: two Legendary Pokémon from Hoenn that soar through the sky like jet fighters and can read each other's minds. Latias is the red one and can turn invisible; Latios is the blue one and is the faster of the two. They belong together, and on these sleeves they appear together too.
What a Pokémon Center design is
Alongside the accessories tied to a card set, the Pokémon Center in Japan also releases its own designs: a theme spanning a handful of products, in limited runs and usually for just one season. This design also includes a deck box and a binder alongside the sleeves.
