Magic: The Gathering Reality Fracture – what you can pre-order at Lichcards

Reality Fracture, the new Magic: The Gathering set, is released on 2 October 2026. The set concludes the story of Jace Beleren and takes you to the Echoverse: an alternate Multiverse that Jace built himself. What is Reality Fracture about?

After all the invasions and disasters in the Multiverse, Jace Beleren wanted to end suffering for good. To do so, he built a new Multiverse, the Echoverse: a copy of the familiar planes, but without the beings and events that caused so much harm. The Jace carrying out this plan calls himself the Theorist. He is the part of Jace that remained after he silenced the doubting voices within himself, and he pursues his plan whatever the cost.

At the centre of the Echoverse stands the Theorist’s Tower on the Echoverse version of Arcavios, the plane of Strixhaven. The lower levels of the tower house Hexhaven Academy, an academy for battlemages with five schools: Fatehold, Theorix, Stingerquill, Konstrari and Vigorbloom. Around the tower lies the Eradia, a wasteland full of mage hunters and reality-warped creatures. Familiar planeswalkers and legends return in the Echoverse in a different form, often in another colour and with a different personality.

The Echoverse is not stable, though. According to the Theorist, there is one solution: laying it over the real Multiverse. And that threatens everything that already exists.

What is new in Reality Fracture?

• Echoed pairs. Many legends come in twos: the Multiverse version you know and a version from the Echoverse, often in another colour. Think of a fiery and an icy Chandra (Chandra, Torch of Defiance and Chandra, Chill of Compliance) or Garruk, Veiled Butcher and Garruk, Curse Breaker. Every Play Booster contains three echoed pairs cards, two of which form a complete pair.
• Empower Jace. Cards with this new action give you a blue Jace planeswalker token, or extra loyalty if you already have one. The token has two abilities: −1: Surveil 1 and −3: Draw a card. Jace tokens are not legendary.
• Prepare. A creature with a prepare spell enters the battlefield prepared. You may then cast a copy of that spell; after that the creature is no longer prepared, until another effect prepares it again.
• Heartwood tokens. Red-green artifact tokens that tap for red or green mana. Handy for casting big spells sooner.

Every Play Booster contains at least two legendary cards, and in 1 in 55 Play Boosters a Special Guests card replaces a common. Want to play the set before release? Prerelease events at local game stores start on 25 September 2026.

Play Booster – release 2 October 2026

The Reality Fracture Play Booster is the booster for opening, drafting and playing sealed. Every booster contains 14 cards:

• at least 1 rare or mythic rare;
• 1 traditional foil card;
• 3 echoed pairs cards, two of which form a complete pair;
• 1 land card: a basic land, borderless tower basic land or common dual land;
• 1 token or punch-out counter.

Bundle – release 2 October 2026

The Reality Fracture Bundle is the complete starter package: 9 Play Boosters, 1 traditional foil promo card, 30 basic lands (15 foil and 15 non-foil, including borderless tower basic lands), an oversized Spindown life counter, a storage box and 2 reference cards. With nine boosters you get at least nine echoed pairs and enough cards to build a first deck.

Multiverse Reforged Commander Deck – release 2 October 2026

Do you play Commander? Multiverse Reforged is the Commander deck of Reality Fracture. You play with Jace, Multiverse Architect, a white, blue, black and red planeswalker that can be your commander. The idea: you fill the board with tokens and turn them into powerful creatures from your library, using Jace’s −3, Mass Polymorph, Synthetic Destiny and Proteus Staff. The second commander is Nissa, Leyline Tamer. The box contains 100 cards, 16 of them new to Magic, two traditional foil commanders with borderless art, 10 double-sided tokens and a deck box.

• You reserve your copy. You pay when you place your order and we hold the product for you.
• Shipping from the release date. Your parcel ships on or around release day. If you order before 4:00 PM on a working day, we ship in-stock products the same day; pre-orders follow on the release date.
• Mixed order? If you combine a pre-order with products that are available now, we ship everything together as soon as the last pre-order product arrives. Want the available items sooner? Place two separate orders.
• Free shipping from €75 within the Netherlands and the EU countries we ship to. You can also pick up your order at our shop in Enkhuizen.

Which product suits you?

Want to get to know the set or give someone a great gift? Then the Bundle is the obvious choice: nine boosters, basic lands, a foil promo and a box to store everything in. If you mainly want to open packs or draft with friends, go for single Play Boosters. And if you play Commander, Multiverse Reforged gives you a ready-to-play deck that you can later expand with cards from the set.
