Why 64 and not 65

Western sleeve packs contain 65, Japanese ones 64 — a difference that comes purely from each market's own convention. A deck holds 60 cards either way, so you're left with a few spares regardless. Just keep in mind that Japanese sleeves are sized for Japanese cards, which are a fraction smaller than Western ones.

About Worlds 2023

From August 11 to 13, 2023, the best players in the world competed for the title in Yokohama, across the trading card game, the video games, Pokémon UNITE and Pokémon GO. For the card game alone, 348 players from 36 countries took part. It was the first time in the tournament's history that it was held in Japan — or even in Asia — in the country Pokémon comes from. Items that were only sold there and only on those days can no longer be made.

What sleeves are for

Sleeves protect your cards from fingerprints, moisture and damaged edges, and let a deck shuffle more smoothly. At tournaments they're effectively required: every back in your deck has to look identical, so no one can tell which card you're holding from the back.

Another tournament-focused pack is the Deck Shield PRO with Greninja. A Japanese store-exclusive design is the one from Pokémon Center Osaka DX.
