Why 64 and not 65
Western sleeve packs contain 65, Japanese ones 64 — a difference that simply comes down to convention in the two markets. A deck holds 60 cards either way, so you always have a few spares left over. Japanese Pokémon sleeves fit standard-size Pokémon TCG cards (63 × 88 mm), regardless of the card's language.
About Espeon
Espeon is the Psychic Eeveelution: Eevee becomes it when it trusts its trainer enough during the day. The ruby-red gem on its forehead isn't jewelry but a sense organ — it reads air currents with it and so can anticipate what's about to happen. It's the sun side of a pair the Pokémon Center keeps bringing back: Espeon for the day, Umbreon for the night.
What sleeves are for
Sleeves protect your cards from fingerprints, moisture and damaged edges, and they make a deck shuffle more smoothly. At tournaments they're effectively mandatory: every card back in your deck must look identical, so no one can tell which card you're holding from the back.
Why this pack is scarce
This is an older release that has never been reprinted. Demand for Eeveelution designs is structurally higher than for the rest — Espeon and Umbreon are together the most collected of the eight — and that drives up the price of an unopened pack.
Its counterpart Umbreon has sleeves in the Moonlight version and a matching deck box. Together they appear on a separate pin.
