What Makes Premium Gloss Different
The Pokémon Center makes its sleeves in two finishes. Premium Gloss is the shiny one: the back reflects light, which makes a dark design like this one look deeper and its colors pop more. The matte PRO line does the opposite and is built for smooth shuffling. For a design where the artwork is the point, gloss is the obvious choice; if you play a lot of tournaments, matte is more practical.
Why 64 and Not 65
Western sleeve packs contain 65, Japanese packs 64 — a difference that simply comes down to habit in the two markets. Either way, a deck holds 60 cards, so you're left with a few spares regardless. Keep in mind that Japanese sleeves are sized for Japanese cards, which are a fraction smaller than Western ones.
About Umbreon
Umbreon is the Dark-type Eeveelution: Eevee becomes it when it has built up enough trust in its trainer at night. The yellow rings on its fur glow in the dark, and according to the Pokédex they get brighter the higher the moon rises. On a glossy black sleeve, that design comes across better than anywhere else.
What Sleeves Are For
Sleeves protect your cards from fingerprints, moisture and damaged edges, and they let a deck shuffle more smoothly. At tournaments they're effectively mandatory: every card back in your deck must look identical, so no one can tell which card you're holding from the back.
