What a prerelease box is for
You build a deck from only what you find in those six packs and play with that. That's a very different experience from playing a deck you planned out: everyone faces the same constraint, so it comes down to what you do with your cards rather than which cards you own. The promo cards and the deck box are only available in this box.
How Star Wars Unlimited works
You play with a leader and a base, and you win by taking down your opponent's base. There are no resource cards: you pay by playing cards from your hand face down as resources. So every card is either something to play or something to pay with — never both.
Fighting also happens in two arenas at once: on the ground and in space. Units in one arena can't affect the other, so you split your attention across two fronts you can both lose.
