The VSTAR Marker: the small card you use to track whether you've already used your VSTAR Power.
What a VSTAR Marker is for
A VSTAR card has, in addition to its regular attack, a VSTAR Power: an attack or ability you may use only once per game. That rule applies to your whole deck, not per card. You place the marker face down as soon as you use it, so you and your opponent can both see that you've used it. Without a marker you have to remember it yourself, and that's exactly where arguments come from.
Why you need a loose one
A marker comes included with every product that contains VSTAR cards, but they get lost, and if you have several decks ready to go at once you'll want one in each deck. For 29 cents that's solved.
When VSTAR existed
VSTAR debuted in early 2022 with the set Star Birth and ran until the end of the Sword & Shield era. It's no longer played in the current Standard format, but you still need it for older decks and for the Expanded format.
From that era there's the sleeves with Arceus from Star Birth and the Sinnoh Legend deck box. For tracking damage there are loose damage dice.
