What Yurutto means

Yurutto is Japanese for “nice and relaxed”, and that's exactly the tone of this series: the Pokémon aren't posed heroically but just hang around, drawn in rounded lines and soft colors. It's one of the design series the Pokémon Center makes for its own store stock, independent of any particular card set.

Why this mat is scarce

The series was sold in a limited run at the Japanese Pokémon Centers in April 2022 and briefly reissued once more in May 2023. It hasn't been restocked since. That, combined with the fact that a playmat is, after all, meant to be used, explains what an unopened example is worth by now.

What a playmat is for

A playmat gives your play area a fixed layout and keeps your cards off the table: no moisture, no crumbs, no edges scraping against wood. The rubber bottom stays put wherever you lay it, and the fabric top lets you pick up your cards without having to pick at them. At tournaments, bringing your own mat is standard practice.
