What a deckbox is for
A deck of sixty sleeved cards held together with an elastic band is a deck that ends up on the floor sooner or later. A deckbox keeps it together, protects the edges, and fits in a bag. Japanese deckboxes are more compact than Western ones because they're sized for the slightly smaller Japanese cards — Western cards in double sleeves make for a tight fit.
About the Pokémon Center Tohoku
Tohoku is the north of Japan. The Pokémon Center Tohoku in Sendai relocated and reopened its doors on March 14, 2025, and for the occasion a dedicated series of items was released — including six Pikachu, each dressed up for one of the region's six major summer festivals.
What store-exclusive means
For some locations, the Pokémon Center releases its own design that isn't sold anywhere else, not even online. So you had to have literally been there, or know someone who was. That's what makes items like this sought after among collectors in a way that has nothing to do with the game: it's a souvenir that just happens to be useful too.
