Why 64 and not 65
Western sleeve packs contain 65, Japanese ones 64 — a difference that comes purely from convention in the two markets. A deck holds 60 cards either way, so you end up with a few spares regardless. Keep in mind that Japanese sleeves are sized for Japanese cards, which are a fraction smaller than Western ones.
What the Kantō Festival is
At the Kantō Festival in Akita, men balance twelve-meter bamboo poles hung with nearly fifty lanterns — on their hand, forehead, shoulder or hip. Together, the poles look like ripe ears of rice; that's exactly what the festival is a prayer for.
Note: this Kantō is Akita's Kantō (竿燈) festival, not the Pokémon region of Kanto. The two words are written completely differently in Japanese and have nothing to do with each other.
The six festivals of Tōhoku
Tōhoku is the north of Japan, and its six prefectures each hold their own summer festival in the first week of August. Together they're known as the six great festivals of Tōhoku, and since 2011 they've also come together in one place once a year. In 2025, for the reopening of its Sendai store, the Pokémon Center released its own Pikachu for each of the six — and here you'll find all six complete.
