My First Rummikub

My First Rummikub is a great game to introduce young children to Rummikub. The game is very similar to the original game, but My First Rummikub has been adapted for young children, making the game a bit easier. The My First Rummikub is suitable for children from 4 years old, in contrast to the basic game that is suitable from 6 years old. The game is very similar to Rummikub Junior, but the box has a slightly different design.

Introductory game
For young children it is advisable to start with the introductory game. With this variant, all stones are opened on the table and the children must find the right stones to put down. In this way an adult can explain to them what a series is during the game and they can get acquainted with the basic rules.

Game Rules My First Rummikub Goliath Basic Game
The purpose of the game is to make rising or sloping series of 3 or more stones (and with the same color). For example, an example of such a series is a yellow 3-4-5-6. In the official terms, such a series is also called a set. During the game for adults (such as with Rummikub 6 people) you also have rows. These are sets of stones with the same numerical value, but different colors. During My First Rummikub you only play with series.

Preparation
To begin with, all stones are mixed up. Each player takes a game board and places 6 stones on it. The remaining stones are closed on the table. Each player also receives 6 reward sheets that act as points during the game. The oldest player starts the game unless you have made other agreements about this.

Play
At My First Rummikub you do not have to achieve a specific point value to be able to play. As soon as you have a set of 3 or more stones, you can put them down. So you only play with series, where the numbers have the same color and follow each other.

In addition to laying down a completely new series, you can also use stones to connect them with existing sets. You can use all sets on the table for this, including those of your fellow players. No sets are taken apart or combined during this game.

The game contains 4 jokers that you can use to replace another stone to finish your set. Jokers on the table can also be exchanged with the right stone. You can use the joker immediately, but you can also keep it on your board for later.

If you cannot make or want to make a set, you can hand in a sheet and take a stone from the pot. The turn then switches to the next player.

Pointing
The scoring of the game works with reward sheets. You will receive 1 sheet for:

• Every stone you play
• Every set you make
• Completely made series

If you make a completely new set of 4 stones, you will receive a total of 5 sheets (4 for the stones and 1 for the set itself). Moreover, you will receive an extra sheet if you complete a series.

End of the game
The game ends as soon as a player has used all his or her stones. However, this does not immediately mean that this player has also won. During the game, the intention is to collect as many reward sheets as possible. The player who is first out receives an extra sheet, while all other players have to hand in a sheet. Count the sheets of each player and see who has most of the sheets. Congratulations, you are the winner!
