Why a metal coin is different
Most Pokémon coins are plastic: light, and they roll away on a smooth table. A metal coin has weight, tumbles less, and feels like a real coin when you flip it. That's why Pokémon only puts them in the priciest boxes. In the game they do the same job — heads or tails on attacks and Trainer cards — just with more fun.
The Mega Charizard X ex Ultra-Premium Collection came out on November 14, 2025 and is the priciest box Pokémon releases. It included eighteen booster packs, two foil promo cards (Mega Charizard X ex and Oricorio ex), 65 sleeves, a playmat, a deck box, a metal coin, and six damage dice. Four parts of that box are sold separately here; the other three are the 65 sleeves, the playmat, and the dice.
Mega Charizard X also has a regular coin from the Phantasmal Flames set, and the previous Charizard box has a gold Gigantamax Charizard coin sold separately.
