Description
The oversized spindown D20 from the Bundle of Magic: The Gathering – Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths. Considerably larger than a regular spindown, and only released in that Bundle.
Specifications
- Type: oversized spindown D20, twenty-sided
- Set: Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths (2020)
- Origin: included only in the Ikoria Bundle
What makes a spindown different
On a regular D20, the numbers are arranged randomly, so that a roll is fair. On a spindown, they're arranged in order: 20, 19, 18 and so on, spiraling around the die. That way, you turn to the next number in a single motion — exactly what you want when you're counting down your life total. For random rolls, it's actually less suitable.
Why oversized
Every Magic Bundle includes one large spindown instead of the regular size. It's not more practical to use — it actually takes up table space — but it's readable from a distance and looks great in a display case. For collectors, this is the piece that's missing if you only have the regular set dice.
The regular size from the same set is the Ikoria spindown in blue. Other sets include Eldritch Moon and Game Night 2019.
