Why four pockets instead of nine
A 4-pocket is roughly half the size of the usual 9-pocket, so it fits in a backpack or under your arm. Handy for a deck, a series of favorites or for taking along to a trading event. It is too small for a complete set — for that you want a 9-pocket. The four oversized pockets are the special feature here: otherwise, jumbo cards don’t fit in any binder at all.
