Why 64 and Not 65

Western sleeve packs contain 65, Japanese packs 64 — a difference that simply comes down to habit in the two markets. Either way, a deck holds 60 cards, so you're left with a few spares regardless. Keep in mind that Japanese sleeves are sized for Japanese cards, which are a fraction smaller than Western ones.

About Misty and Starmie

Misty is the Gym Leader of Cerulean City, making her the second opponent that everyone who ever played Pokémon Red or Blue ran into — and for many players, the first one who was actually tough. Starmie is her strongest Pokémon: a purple starfish with a jewel at its center that pulses as if sending out signals. In Battle Region, the two appear together on the character super rare of Starmie V, and that's the artwork on these sleeves.

What Sleeves Are For

Sleeves protect your cards from fingerprints, moisture and damaged edges, and they let a deck shuffle more smoothly. At tournaments they're effectively mandatory: every card back in your deck must look identical, so no one can tell which card you're holding from the back.
