Jiro Sasumo tekende Vaporeon samen met trainer Blue — in Japan bekend als Green — de rivaal uit de eerste generatie, die in Pokémon Yellow met een Vaporeon speelt. Dezelfde illustratie verscheen later in het Engels in de Trainer Gallery van Brilliant Stars.
