Why 64 and not 65

Western sleeve packs contain 65, Japanese ones 64 — a difference that comes down purely to convention in the two markets. A deck holds 60 cards either way, so you'll have a few spares left over regardless. Just keep in mind that Japanese sleeves are sized for Japanese cards, which are a fraction smaller than Western ones.

Why Bidoof of all Pokémon

Bidoof is the beaver from Sinnoh that you run into ten times over in the very first patch of grass in Diamond and Pearl, and that's otherwise not good at anything. That's exactly why it became one of the best-known Pokémon: players used it en masse as a workhorse for field moves, and the joke grew into a cult following of its own. The fact that the Pokémon Center made a sleeve pack out of it is proof that the joke has become official.

What sleeves are for

Sleeves protect your cards from fingerprints, moisture and damaged edges, and they let a deck shuffle more smoothly. At tournaments they're effectively mandatory: every card back in your deck has to look identical, so no one can tell which card you're holding from the back.

Another lighthearted design is Exhausted with Gengar and Snorlax. And if you'd rather have something more battle-ready: Battle Start! with Charizard, Pikachu and Lucario.
