Resurgence is a competitive Euro-style board game for up to four players. It offers a unique mix of bag-building, hidden worker placement, and resource management, creating a distinctive gameplay experience. At the start of the game, each player chooses a hero who leads a small group of survivors and a limited stockpile. Each round, players secretly plan where to send their workers to accomplish various tasks and exert their influence, whether that means carrying out missions around the ruins of Moscow; gathering fuel, food, and spare parts; rescuing survivors; learning new skills; or building up their base.

Resurgence offers multiple paths to victory, and in-game events and endgame guideline cards ensure variety and replayability from game to game. At the end of the game, the hero whose faction triumphs becomes the new leader and unites all the survivor groups at the refuge of Hope Island.
