Why a ring binder and not a bound portfolio
In a bound portfolio the pages are fixed: full is full. This binder has four rings, so you can buy extra pages and insert them, and you can take out a single page to show it off without handing over the whole binder. For a collection that’s still growing, that’s the difference between one binder and a shelf full of them.
Charizard versus Rayquaza
The two weren’t placed opposite each other by chance. Charizard is the most popular Pokémon of all; Rayquaza is the dragon from the ozone layer that hasn’t touched the ground in hundreds of millions of years. Both fly, both have been top decks in the card game for years — and on this binder they fly at each other, front against back.
Which series it’s from
Around the Special Deck Set Charizard VSTAR vs Rayquaza VMAX of November 4, 2022, the Pokémon Center released a whole series of accessories in the same design: this binder, a playmat and two sleeve packs. They were sold only in Japan and never reprinted.
From the same series, there’s the playmat, the sleeves with Flying Charizard and the ones with Flying Rayquaza.
