6 mm acrylic, and why that matters

The case is made of 6 mm virgin acrylic from Taiwan. Most cases on the market are 5 or 8 mm; The Acrylic Box was the first with 6 mm. That thickness is exactly what makes the magnetic closure possible without the acrylic cracking around the magnets — the well-known weak spot of thinner cases. The edges are polished, so you look through a smooth, clear wall instead of a dull cut edge.

83% UV resistant

The acrylic blocks 83% of UV light. That is what determines whether a booster box that sits in the light for years keeps its color: with sealed product, discoloration of the box is the first thing that hurts the value.

Magnetic closure

The case closes with N52 magnets on the top — the strongest type of neodymium magnet in common use. It stays closed when you move it, and opens without tools whenever you want to get at it.
