What damage dice are for
In the Pokémon Trading Card Game, you track damage in steps of 10. Officially you do that with paper damage counters, but those blow away, stick to your fingers and get lost. A die next to your Pokémon does the same job at a glance: you turn it to the number of tens of damage shown. Fast, and simply allowed at tournaments.
Where these come from
These dice originally came in an Elite Trainer Box — the large box with boosters, sleeves, energy cards and accessories. Anyone who buys a box like that is usually after the cards and the sleeves, so the rest tends to be left over. Every Elite Trainer Box has its own colors and artwork, so for anyone chasing or collecting a specific set, the loose set is exactly what's missing.
About Lost Origin
Lost Origin released in September 2022 and brought the Lost Zone to the Western card game: a separate pile next to your discard pile, where cards go that never come back. Giratina VSTAR was the centerpiece, and the deck built around it remained among the strongest for years.
