What Battle Partners is about
Battle Partners revolves around the bond between trainers and their Pokémon. You can see that in the artwork: where most sets only show the Pokémon, here both are always on the card, pictured together. The set therefore leans heavily on trainer cards with a Pokémon on them, and that is exactly the kind of card collectors go after.
Why a whole box
Thirty packs in a row is the only way to get a set anywhere near complete without buying single cards on top. With a Japanese set, at five cards per pack you end up with a hundred and fifty cards in total — enough for a good chunk of the set, and enough to give the rare cards a real chance. A sealed box is also the only thing you can be sure nobody has been through.
