What an Elite Trainer Box is
An Elite Trainer Box is the box that gives you everything you need to play, not just cards. Alongside the booster packs, it comes with: card sleeves, Basic Energy cards, damage counters or dice, a condition marker, a player’s guide, and a sturdy storage box with dividers that everything fits into. That box is deliberately made in deck size, so you keep using it as a storage box long after the packs are gone.
Who it’s for
For someone starting out with a new set, this is the logical starting point: you immediately have sleeves and Energy cards, and those two are exactly what you don’t get from loose boosters, even though you need them to be able to play.
