Description
Dimir Control is the black-blue deck from the 2022 Pioneer Challenger Deck series: a classic control deck that keeps the opponent out of the game with counterspells and removal, then strikes late.
How does it play?
You answer everything that comes at you — Fatal Push and Drown in the Loch for the threats, Sinister Sabotage and Censor to stop spells, Extinction Event if the board fills up anyway. Dig Through Time and Narset, Parter of Veils make sure you never run out of cards. You win with Torrential Gearhulk, Murderous Rider, or a big Shark Typhoon.
What's in the deck
- Ready-to-play Pioneer-legal deck of 60 cards
- Sideboard of 15 cards (including Duress, Test of Talents, Go Blank, and Languish)
- Matching tokens and helper cards
- A box that fits the deck plus sideboard once sleeved
Why Pioneer?
Pioneer is a non-rotating format: cards are legal from Return to Ravnica through the newest set, and stay that way. What you buy today you can still play years from now — unlike in Standard. The Challenger Decks are also fun to play against each other.
Single boosters to expand your deck: the Lorwyn Eclipsed Play Booster and the Duskmourn Play Booster. Sleeve your new deck with Gamegenic matte sleeves.
