Why a deck only has two ink colors
Lorcana has six ink colors, and a deck may use only two of them. So you can't do everything and have to choose what you want to be good at. A starter deck has already made that choice for you, which makes it a pleasant starting point: you play with what's inside for a while first and adjust it afterward.
What you're playing for in Lorcana
You don't win by defeating your opponent but by being the first to collect twenty lore. You do that by sending your characters questing — but a character that's questing can't stop anything that turn. Jafar from Aladdin is in Lorcana one of the characters who disrupts the opponent's game instead of hitting hard himself.
