Description
The Commander deck Tricky Terrain from Magic: The Gathering – Modern Horizons 3 plays blue and green — the Simic colors — with Omo, Queen of Vesuva and Jyoti, Moag Ancient as commanders.
What’s in the box
- 1 ready-to-play deck of 100 cards: 2 traditional foil commanders and 98 non-foil cards
- 13 cards new to Magic
- 1 Collector Booster Sample Pack with 2 cards
- 1 foil-etched Display Commander (a thicker cardboard copy of the commander)
- 10 double-sided tokens
- 1 deck box for 100 sleeved cards, 1 life wheel, and 1 strategy insert
How the deck plays
This deck gets everything out of your lands. Omo, Queen of Vesuva gives your lands extra types and turns them into creatures, so what normally just makes mana suddenly joins the fight. You play more lands than usual, copy the good ones, and build a board an opponent has little answer to.
What makes Modern Horizons 3 special
Modern Horizons sets don’t release in Standard; they go straight to Modern — the format where everything since 2003 is legal. That lets Wizards put cards in it that are stronger than a regular set could handle. Together, the four Commander decks in this series contain sixty cards that never existed anywhere else.
The other regular deck in the store is Eldrazi Incursion. This same deck is also available as a Collector’s Edition with a hundred Ripple Foil cards.
